Coming Soon!

Excited to announce my new short story will soon be available on amazon.com. The setting is Lindell in Southeast Texas, the same city as in my Lindell High School Series novels, and the restaurant is the same Skip's that appears in each of those novels. The main character, however, is different. Writing a short story is certainly different from writing a novel, and I learned a lot. Can't wait to see how A Tall Order resonates with those who read it.
Here's the description of my short story:

When Sarah Struthers sees the Norton Panthers basketball team, she wants to run—not walk—to the nearest exit.

Sarah never thought she'd have to serve her high school's greatest rival at her job as a part-time waitress. But when the Norton Panthers’ bus unloads in the parking lot at Skip's Restaurant, she's forced to take their orders. The last thing she wants is to wait on the team that crushed Lindell High's chances at winning district.

When Austin Neely and his friends discover Sarah goes to Lindell, their teasing increases her resentment and causes her to storm away from their booth. As Austin attempts to smooth things over, his interest in her grows, and Sarah starts to see him in a different light.

But rivalries run deep on both sides.

Will school loyalties dictate their choices, or will Sarah and Austin let the faith they have in common show them a better way?

I'm also including a preview of the first novel in my Lindell High School Series, To Love Someone, in this eBook.

That's all my news for now.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Claire

Statue from the 1970's

I gave this little statue to my husband when we were going together back in the 1970's. I wasn't crazy about the eyes (still not) but I loved the sentence. All teenage couples have their problems, and we certainly had ours. But we knew that God had brought us together, and we were both committed to working things out. That commitment continued into our marriage. Almost five decades later, we still love each other and we're still working together, along with the Lord, to solve whatever problem arises. As Scripture says, "Love never fails." When you bring God into your relationships, He will never fail to help you.

Free eBook--To Love Someone

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We've been doing some remodeling since October, and thankfully, it was finished Wednesday, so I was able to focus on cooking my annual Thanksgiving turkey and dressing for my oldest son and my husband.

If you haven't grabbed a copy of the first book in The Lindell High School Series, To Love Someone, now's your chance. The eBook will be free Sunday, Nov. 26.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Claire
